Six-hour shifts twice a week. Applied copyediting and proofreading skills for online regional magazine focused on journalism and arts. Curated topics across local publications and wrote daily newsletter in MailChimp.  

The Daily of UW, Copyeditor, Writer

Oct. 2017 - Jun. 2019

Over nine months, conducted approx.. 40 interview and wrote 12 articles for wellness, news, science, and arts and leisure sections. Transitioned to copyediting in 2018-2019 academic year, editing and fact-checking articles for sections according to the Associated Press Stylebook in bi-weekly shifts.

Epicenter Press, Editorial and Administrative Intern

Apr. - Nov. 2018

Worked with three imprints under Epicenter Press. Proofread 12 typeset manuscripts for grammar, stylistic consistency, and formatting, and created five cover design conceptualizations based on proofread manuscripts. Managed promotional materials on social media, including cultivating a creative Instagram presence.

Regular position in family-owned business. Serve upwards of 80 to 100 customers per day while handling cashier transactions and phone orders.

New Degree Press, Author

Jan. - Dec. 2019

As part of Creator Institute led by Eric Koester, wrote, revised, and published Yellow Boxes, a fiction novel, in a one-year trajectory. Raised $5000 for publishing funds in summer pre-sale campaign on Indiegogo. 

Bricolage Literary & Visual Arts Journal, Prose Editor, Prose Section Reviewer  

Issue 36. Attended weekly prose section meetings for three months to review prose submissions with eight other volunteer reviewers according to rubric.

Issue 37. Served as prose editor, meeting with other section editors weekly to check-in on reviewing process as well as coordinate Open Mic events. Led weekly prose section meetings with a team of regular reviewers.                                                                                    

UW + Amazon Mentors Program

Weekly group meetings with assigned mentor, Laura Martin, senior UX design lead at Amazon, during which we discussed approaches to job interviews, professionalism, resumes, and long-term goals.
